Dietary valine requirement of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) with different body weights

ABSTRACT Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum ) is one of the highly produced freshwater fish in Brazilian farming. However, its production efficiency associated with refinement diet formulations limited due to a lack information on nutritional requirements for certain essential amino acids such as valine. This study was designed estimate valine requirement tambaqui having different body weights. A total 720 juveniles were used feed trials. The first trial consisted 360 an average initial weight 33.28 ±0.19 g, and second comprised (121.19 ±1.29 g). trials dose-response experiments five levels (5.0, 7.0, 9.0, 11.0, 13.0 g/kg diet) four replicate tanks per treatment. control obtained by adding L-valine containing 5.0 (the level tested) ensure it reached 7.0 diet, corresponding tested. Analysis variance, Dunnett’s test comparison regression analysis performed. results showed that intake, gain, specific growth rate, conversion ratio significantly improved dietary (P < 0.05) both Dietary exerted quadratic effects protein, fat, protein deposition, nitrogen retention 33 g 121 fat deposition affected only weighing g. Quadratic data revealed optimum (33.0 g-83.0 g) (121.0 g-277.0 11.9 9.1 respectively.
